How are you today?… You betcha I want to know… so if you take the time to answer that question… I will answer you back…

That is the topic of this discussion–I have researched this topic for many many years… the results always “bug” me and I am seldom proved wrong… What am I talking about?…

Let’s pretend your walking down the hallway at work, as you pass someone they “nod” their head… mumble… “hey, how ya doing?”… AND… they keep walking! What is up with that?… (that’s just wrong on so many levels)

That bugs me…so here’s one solution… STOP ‘Head Nodder’ in their tracks… look them in the eye and answer the question… everything is…

Trying to come up with a reason… why we change… Is it in the coffee creamer?… because my hope is when you wake up in the morning…leave for work… unless you live alone… I hope someone gave you a kiss and a hug and said something like “I love you, see ya tonight”… If that is a similar thing that happens in your house each morning… then what happens… again I ask… how do we change and become ‘head nodders’?…

What a change… if just for a brief second… what could it hurt?… could it change us?…take tension out of the air… I don’t know… but today if someone mumbles, ‘hey’… “how ya doing”… make ‘head nodder’ aware… they asked a question… and you would like a second to answer… everything is…

You might never ever know… how important this change can be… but people are people and I just cant help but think what if… We JUST—Kindness Pass It On…

If you only knew!!!

With No One actually absorbing the words… without hearing the sounds… how do you get around?… nothing to even hummm… no wonder some call us dumb…

We skirt… skip and jump… anything to avoid the eyes (posibly a hurt)… just in case there is gloom.  Is there No Room in the Inn of our hearts?… when did they shrink?… in the land of kitchens and sinks… hearts are for filling and filling some more… how could we get lost at the shrinky-dink store…

Grunts, Sounds… Drawings and Man… we have been at this talking/listening thing… heehee since I have been around…

I am sorry to say… I am guilty in a way…

But if we stop… and take just a little time… we will find… our kitchen could really increase in time…

If you only knew!!!

I don’t have any memories of news events from that time. I was alive when RFK was shot, flower power was going on, we walked on the moon… but I was simply to small… to recall if what I saw was memories or imagination from all I have read.

The first news event that I remember watching was third grade/Mrs. Clayton’s class.  She stopped teaching and turned on what I believe would have been the Watergate Hearings. It didn’t make much sense to me then… I wish I would/could remember how she explained what it all mean to us… it would be years until I actually researched that event.

I don’t remember the war coverage, protests or even the end of the Vietnam War… I was a kid and I was lucky at that time to be riding my bike which was the coolest thing to do after we ate dinner so I missed the news.

My experiences of the 60′s came from the music…when I was a kid I sang the songs… I still sing them today… time has changed and educated me… it would be years from those beginning days before I understood more of the day… the times… and what was going on in their minds…

Lots of things came out of the 1960′s…  I am grateful for the music… the people who believed in this land… and the change they brought on with their bands.

I didn’t set out to write this post… but I guess my brain and fingers had other plans… my connection to the tunes of the sixties… I believe I listen… trying to understand… why I could have been beaten and thrown away like a (what)… so I leave you today with of course some more tunes… of my beginning days!

The eyes can’t see… what the heart feels… as this child tries desperately to reveal… All they want is to be seated on the other side of the table… one quite possibly to call there own…

No one notices or even knows… the child understands… why no one will hold his hand…

Longing… Dreaming… only to wake up in their”Hide”…  the child forgotten with only time… they know… NO pride…

The child understands why they cant be seen or heard… or even observed…

The child with No family… sits on the curb… silence is the only thing heard…

If someone would just listen… why {{can’t/won’t}} they hear?… the noise is so loud.. they scream in silence to be stomped down… deaf ears… broken… turned off… to busy to stop and park…

Still No One listens… their voice silent…’alone” again in the dark…

Who will turn on their puffed out SPARK?…

For the children… who cannot speak… they need us now… they are alone… with no crowd…

Michael Jackson was awesome — I was a fan… time for me moved on and Michael came out with Off The Wall… again I loved this album!…

When this album was released in 1979…guess what… I was still skating…and this album was great to skate too.

It was 1984 when Michael was burned during the Pepsi commercial…

This is the video I found on youtube… I decided I didn’t want to watch it…but I put it in because it is part of the story.

I don’t remember much about Michael’s accident at the time, I don’t know if that was because they kept it on the down low or unlike today’s world we just didn’t have as many sources for news… I don’t know…

Thriller was huge…  New Years 1984… the launch of thriller… that was awesome… we watched in awe as we rang in 1984… another huge album… he really was awesome!

Michael Jackson… “Thriller”….

This was fantastic and as I watched that night with friends at a local club… I thought he was amazing… but time went on school, marriage, kids, the usual…

As the world knows Michael passed away on June 25, 2009 and his doctor is on trial this week… Michael’s story is sad… and many of us can’t understand how he lived… it breaks my heart…

I want to remember Michael and his music…. for the joy it brings us all! Thank you Michael!

If you only knew!!!

T-shirts and slogans have been around forever…. we sported our children around when they were babies… who can forget the t-shirt brought back for you from someone’s vacation and of course it said they went somewhere cool… and all they brought you was a t-shirt…

We have t-shirts from dance classes, baseball, football, school events… funny t-shirts that make you laugh out loud… T-shirts that seemed funny at the time stuck in the back of the drawers… T-shirts everywhere…

Our children wear them… we see them everywhere…  buy them for many many reasons…

Question One asks… If you could only speak by wearing ONE t-shirt… what would it say and why?…

Question Two isn’t a question… many of you know my children are grown…. but for those of you who have children… save their t-shirts from all their favorite events and concerts…

They can be made into quilts for them… I thought that was a great idea… but by the time I came across it… those great t-shirts of yesterday were today’s dust rags!

Maybe that idea will help you preserve some of their highlights and funnies!

We spend so many of our years under the routine attack… carefree days… swept out with the dust… time travels quickly… don’t miss your boat… unless the bench is were you like to be stuck…

Spending so much time in a routine… could make us healthy wealthy and wise… unless… your routine stifles and chokes … without bend or pull… maybe your routine could use a few more rules… or holes…

Routines are great and discipline rocks… I myself could have used more of that in my chart…

Look outside… she the rise… your beanstalk is shooting dice… if you dream it… see it… feel it… then what the heck… get off the bench and and let it roll…

Your safe I promise… the bread crumbs will always lead you home… know this and give it your all…

The back “NOES”… as in I got your back… so keep your toes warm… light your fire… change your routine… if it is not working in your scene…

A tweak here… A tweak there… and no longer will the vision of you being seen in your underroos  hold you back…
